Poetry Open Mic

Event Details

** The health and safety of our patrons are of utmost importance to us at the Camas Public Library. Due to the current covid spike, we have canceled all in-person programs, events, and outreach until further notice. Poetry Open Mic has been moved to Zoom, and registration is required. You will be emailed the link the day before the event. **

** In January we are meeting the 3rd TUESDAY instead of the 3rd Monday, due to the Library being closed for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. In February we are meeting the 4th TUESDAY due to Presidents Day.**

Read aloud your original or favorite work, and listen to monthly featured poets. All ages welcome. 


6:00 - doors open

6:15 - readers final sign-in

6:30-7:45 - poet reading


General Guidelines:

  • Reading Room will open at 6:00 p.m.
  • Readers must sign in by 6:15 p.m.  
  • Poetry readings will begin by 6:30 p.m.
  • Readers may use original poems (preferred) or favorites
  • Order of readings will be commensurate with sign-in sheet
  • Each reader will have 3-5 minutes to read depending upon total #
  • Observer feedback / comments will open after the final poet has read


Guidelines for Readers:

  • Poems should not contain language unsuitable for family, e.g. profanity, sexually explicit
  • Time limitations will be strictly enforced to ensure all readers can participate
  • As a courtesy, please remain present until the final poems are read
